Lutèce is Europe’s largest producer of preserved mushrooms. Their products are sold in more than 50 countries worldwide, to retail as well as industrial customers. Streamlining the shuttle transport between the production facility in Velden and two DC’s in Venlo and Maasbree, Lutèce makes use of aluminium slat conveyors provided by Ancra Systems.

The stationary loading dock at the production facility enables fluent shipment of the end product towards the two DC’s. At each DC an individual stationary slat conveyor system is installed for unloading the trailers automatically. The docks and trailers are equipped with the automatic slat conveyor system, to enable shipment of mixed charge carriers like EURO (1200x800mm), CHEP (1200x1000mm) as well as Dusseldorf (800x600mm) pallets. Prior to loading (with a speed of 0.1 m/s), the complete load is verified by an outline checking device to prevent cargo and truck damage.

The aluminium slats reduce any loading capacity loss on the trailer to a minimum. In 2009, both trailers are fitted with stand-alone unloading features, enabling offloading in the absence of a stationary dock system when needed. This increases the availability of the trailers for other purposes. The solution provided to Lutèce proves that automatic truck loading can be of great benefit in cost savings, increased throughput, efficiency and damage prevention.
